Beach Gear for a Vacation Rental: Coordinate with Your Host

A vacation rental may already have some beach equipment, but a listing photo is not a current inventory. Confirm the gear and the handoff plan with your host before ordering duplicates.

Ask what is actually available

Request the number of usable chairs, the shade equipment and any cart or cooler provided for your stay. Ask whether those items are shared with another unit and whether there are rules about taking them off the property. If a particular chair height or item matters, confirm the details.

A photo from a previous season cannot tell you whether a chair is still there or an umbrella is in working order. Make a short gap list after speaking with the host. That lets you compare a rental package with what you can use at the accommodation.

Agree on receiving and storing delivered gear

Ask the host whether outside equipment deliveries are permitted and where the handoff should happen. Provide exact instructions for the approved location, including access details needed by the delivery team. Do not assume a common hallway, pool area or parking space is available for storage.

Think about how gear moves between that location, the unit and the beach. Check elevator or stair access, doors and any place that becomes busy at check-in. A place that works for one folded chair may not work for a group’s chairs, umbrellas and cooler.

Use a repeatable beach-day routine

Assign carrying jobs and keep personal items separate from shared gear. Before leaving the beach, collect the equipment and check the sand for missing pieces. FWC asks beach visitors to remove gear and fill human-made holes, keeping the shore clearer for wildlife.

Back at the property, follow the host’s instructions and the equipment care guidance. Avoid blocking walkways while things dry. Keep borrowed host equipment separate from rented items so both sets are easy to return correctly.

Request only the equipment your trip needs

The BeachDay form shows the current packages, extras and rental requirements. It covers listed beach gear, not a general catalog of household furniture, baby equipment or mobility aids. Ask directly if an item is not listed rather than expecting it to arrive.

BeachDay delivers confirmed gear to your accommodation and collects it there after the rental. Guests carry and set it up at the beach. Include your dates and accommodation area in the quote request; availability, arrangements and final pricing still need confirmation before a booking is established.
