Choose the setting for your evening
These bars are in the Clearwater Beach district, across the water from mainland Clearwater. The useful distinction is where you want to spend the evening: above the marina, beside a resort beach stage or along the restaurant-lined Mandalay Avenue corridor.
| Bar | Location and setting | Choose it for | Planning detail |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jimmy’s Crow’s Nest | 101 Coronado Drive; rooftop of Pier House 60 Marina Hotel | Gulf, marina and Pier 60 views with tropical drinks | The bar welcomes visitors staying elsewhere. |
| Shephard’s Tiki Beach Bar & Grill | 619 South Gulfview Boulevard; resort beach setting | Live bands and an evening built around the entertainment calendar | Public Tiki access has age restrictions on certain days; pool access is separate. |
| Hogan’s Hangout | 499 Mandalay Avenue; street-side sports bar | A game, beer or cocktails | Confirm the particular broadcast if it is the reason for your visit. |
Jimmy’s Crow’s Nest: put the view first
Jimmy’s Crow’s Nest occupies the tenth floor of Pier House 60 Marina Hotel. Its views take in the Gulf, Pier 60 and Clearwater Marina, which makes it a useful choice when sunset is the main event. The operator explicitly welcomes people who are staying elsewhere, including families.
The drinks lean toward beach-bar favorites such as piña coladas and rum runners, with beer and wine also available. Choose this for an elevated view over the beach district. Light food is available if you want a snack with the view. If you use the website’s table-request form, wait for the venue to confirm it; submitting the form does not secure a table.
Use the Clearwater Beach sunset guide to find your date’s sunset, then leave room for arrival and finding a place before it. Booking a tightly timed dinner immediately afterward can cut short the part you came to enjoy.
Shephard’s Tiki Beach Bar: choose the band before the departure time
At Shephard’s, the Tiki Beach Bar & Grill combines Gulf views, tropical drinks and live music. It is open to the public, and the resort lists onsite valet parking. Start with its Tiki events calendar, checking the month and date before choosing a performance. Follow the listing’s admission or ticket details; a public venue does not mean every event is free or that a table is reserved.
The property also operates Wave, a separate nightclub with DJs. Check the relevant event’s admission details if that is your destination; the Tiki bar and nightclub have different programs. Soak is the resort’s pool bar, and a Tiki visit does not include pool access.
For groups including someone under 21, read the resort’s access policies. Non-guests under 21 cannot use the Tiki deck or beach on weekends, holidays, special-event days or during high occupancy. The posted policy also requires younger visitors to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Confirm your group’s eligibility for the specific date; a weekday visit does not guarantee admission.
Hogan’s Hangout: make the game the plan
Hogan’s Hangout is a Mandalay Avenue choice for a sports-centered evening. Its setting works for visitors who want the bar and the broadcast to be the destination. The operator promotes live sports and music; ask about your particular game and whether the broadcast will have sound.
The bar menu includes margaritas, mojitos, mules and martinis, alongside draft and bottled beer. Choose the evening around the game or posted event, with a meal nearby before or afterward. The reservation form submits a request that the venue must confirm; ask about admission for your group and a view of the right screen before relying on it.
A workable beach-to-evening plan
For a sunset evening, finish your beach session, return to your accommodation and head to Jimmy’s Crow’s Nest with time before sunset. For live music, reverse the planning order: pick the Shephard’s performance first, then fit dinner around it. A sports night at Hogan’s can stay centered on Mandalay Avenue for both the meal and the game. Our Clearwater Beach and Sand Key restaurant guide helps place dinner, with each restaurant’s location clearly separated.
If you are coming from the mainland, settle the arrival and return plan before heading out. Our Clearwater Beach parking guide helps with the parking choice; a ride arranged for the evening can also avoid moving a car between stops.
Leave beach equipment at your accommodation before entering these venues. BeachDay’s Clearwater Beach delivery service supplies portable gear for your stay: guests carry and set it up for beach outings, then return it to the accommodation for pickup.
